OxyMAX Studie
The Role
The OxyMAX study aims to measure oxytocin levels after stimulation with low-dose MDMA in patients with vasopressin deficiency and healthy controls. It involves an entrance examination and three study days where participants receive MDMA or a placebo. The goal is to understand the effects of MDMA on oxytocin concentration. The study is conducted by the University Hospital Basel's Department of Endocrinology over approximately five weeks.
Requirements
Participants must be male, aged 52-56, healthy, with BMI 21-25, not pregnant, no history of severe psychiatric disorders, not a heavy smoker or alcohol user, and must not currently use drugs regularly, except for cannabis. They should not have first-degree relatives with psychotic disorders. Healthy, medication-free candidates are sought.
